Can the video be sent as an email attachment?
A video file is generally large in data size which exceeds most email inboxes.
Can video be used in a PowerPoint presentation?
Video can be played back in PowerPoint, but it needs to be in the correct format to be recognised by the software.
How long does it take to edit?
The editing process is a skilled job and time is taken reviewing, making the correct cuts, processing audio and splicing together the video into a seamless production. This is all depends on the length and the complexity of the video, and the original recorded media.
The video doesn’t playback in the Viewing Room?
It is likely that the video hasn’t buffered sufficiently. If the video continues to fail, check your internet connection.
When I preview the video, it doesn’t look sharp?
To be able to preview video online we need to compress the video enough so it doesn’t take ages to stream. The final version of the film will be high quality.
Can it be put on YouTube, Facebook etc?
Yes this is all possible, but before a video is released into a public domain it needs to be fully authorised.
Can I have a copy of this on a DVD?
Yes, we can supply the video on a DVD too.
Can I use footage or music from YouTube?
YouTube clips are generally unlicensed so unless there is prior written permission to use the clips then these cannot be utilised.
Can you include footage from my iPhone?
Although we can usually work with footage supplied from mobile phones, tablets and other devices, the video quality is usually noticeably less quality than something filmed on a conventional camera.
Can I use this pop song on my video?
Using commercial music or production music in your video is acceptable if you know the audience of the video. For instance, if the video is to be played back once in a venue where they have a PPL in place then this is acceptable, as long as it isn’t used anywhere else e.g. on YouTube, internal networks. If the video is an internal or external video in whatever guise, music licences need to be obtained. However, Storm do stock a wide library of music that is suitable for videos that is licence-free.
How long do you keep the footage for after editing?
Unless otherwise agreed, Storm do not keep footage after the project has completed. We will generally keep a high-resolution master copy for our purposes, but rarely the original footage, production files etc.
How do I make my video brand compliant?
We will work with your standard guidelines to make sure any branding is correct.
